Greek Holidays

These are some pictures from our summer vacations at Sitia

We are at a village near Sitia called Chamezi. We eat and drink. With Michael and Antonia

And here is the rest of the group. As you can see we are still drinking. To be honest the programme was coffee, food, swimming, coffee, raki (alcohol) till the morning and the same next day.

And here is me and Nikos at Astypalaia, another Greek island where we went just the two of us.

Dennmark

This is me in Coppenhagen. This is the statue of Hans Christian Andersen, the famous writer of Dennmark. Do not be fooled by the sun, as you can see I' m wearing warm clothes. It' -2 C!! In the night it was colder. Dennmark is a flat land, all green. The cities are clean and small and all of them respect the bikers. We only stayed a week but I had a lot of fun. Of course I' m glad to be back in warm Greece, but I got envy for their civilization.

Here we are with my friends: Rania, Ifigeneia (remember her?), me and Antonia. We are at Nyhavn (new port) which is very beautiful and colourful. As you can see it's quite cold but we are very happy.

In this video we can see Cecilia dancing tango. This was recorded the 24th of December last year, in the hospital for charity.
I hope you enjoy it (may be not the first part, because you have to bend your head to the left, xaxaxa).
Well, I hope everybody is ok. We send a lot of kisses and hugs!

Niko

Well, this is my first post in this blog, that my lovely and "tanguera" cousin created in order to keep in touch and to know the lastest news of the greeks families Baxevanis and Lazopulos.
Really I don´t have enough words to describe the greek family i´ve got in Greece, and how they have treated me while i was there. I spent the best moments with them: we had fun, we had laughed and danced. It was a pleasure to meet all of you personally and I hope I see you soon again...but here in Argentina.
I hope this blog keep growing, so we will feel more closer.
I love you all, and thanks for everything.
Poli Filakis!
Niko

P/d: I know I have a very bad english, xaxaxa.

Goodbye!

All good things come to an end! And so Nikos (that’s how he wants to be called in Greece) is going back to Argentina. I hope he had a nice time in Greece and had the opportunity to know the country he loves so much. Now that he is so far away, I can tell how I really feel about my cousin.
When I first saw him, I recognized him immediately. Then I grew fond of him. He is such a sweet guy! I love his accent when he talks Greek. I like how patient he was when he taught me tango. And he was so nice with everyone. We had some good laughs. I don’t know if it’s the family bond, but I had so much fun with him.

Niko, I hope you had a nice time here with us. I managed not to cry when we said goodbye, but I will miss you, my tanguiero. Να είσαι καλά, να μας σκέφτεσαι, και να προσέχεις! Σε αγαπάμε πολύ! Φιλάκια πολλά!

See if you can find Nacho in this picture!!!! This was taken when the undersecretary of Foreign Affairs visited them! They are wearing the T-Shirts I talked about on the previous post.

And this was taken from their visit to the Greek Parliament. The short one with the pink tie is the President of the Parliament.

Welcome!

Difficult? Yes!
Impossible? No!
Many years ago, Tasoula left Greece to find a better future in Argentina. She left behind her sister Vagia. The years passed, they had children that got married and gave them grandchildren.
So part of the family now lives in Argentina. The Lazopulos Family! And the other lives in Greece. The Vaxevanis Family!
The Argentinians speak no greek and the Greeks speak no spanish. Can we still be a family? We think so!
